The Italian Presidency is delighted to host the Meeting of Directors-General for Schools.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Verona and hope you will enjoy our hospitality. This practical information note will facilitate your stay.

1- Registration and identification badges

You are kindly invited to fill in the registration form at the following link:

The deadline for registration is 13th November 2014.

All participants are kindly asked to respect the above deadline to assist the Italian Presidency in its effort to provide accommodation. Please be aware that the access to the areas set aside for the meetings will be restricted exclusively to participants wearing identification badges.

2. Accommodation

About eighty delegates from EU Member States, EU Commission, DGEAC, Eurydice and other organizations are kindly invited to take part in the meeting.
The Italian Presidency will pre-arrange accommodation for two nights (19 and 20 November) for the participants. Delegates are expected to make their own travel arrangements to and from Verona.

If you wish to leave Verona on the 22 November, please indicate it clearly in the registration form so that we can book it for you under your name. The cost will not be covered by the Italian Presidency.  
The hotels in Verona reserved for the participants are: Hotel Due Torri, Hotel Accademia, Hotel Mastino.
The name of the hotel assigned to each participant will be communicated directly by email.
Please also bear in mind that any other costs incurred will not be covered by the Italian Presidency and must be paid to the hotel directly, normally upon check-out.

4. Working Languages

The working languages of the conference will be Italian and English.

5. Transportation and transfers

The Italian Presidency will arrange  transfers from  Bergamo (Orio al Serio) and Verona Catullo Villafranca airports to the selected hotels and vice versa, as well as from the hotels to the meeting and social programme venues.  Transfers will be organized also from and to Verona Porta Nuova railway station and Padua railway station.
Shuttles will depart at given intervals: to ensure you have a seat on a shuttle you are kindly invited to complete the registration form by supplying  the required information (arrival and departure dates, time and flight number).
Participants arriving to a different airport or railway station are kindly asked to provide for transportation to the mentioned stations by themselves.

If you prefer going to the hotel by yourself, you can travel by train, bus, or taxi. There is an Aerobus shuttle to and from Verona airport to Verona Porta Nuova railway station, available every 20 minutes. Cost is about € 6,00. From the station it is possible to reach any hotel in the town centre easily.
From Orio al Serio a bus shuttle will take you to Bergamo central station where trains to Verona Porta Nuova are available. Trains from Padua railway station to Verona Porta Nuova run regularly according to the scheduled time.

6.  Conference venue

The Meeting will take place at “Sala Consiliare della Provincia di Verona”, Loggia di Fra’ Giocondo, Piazza dei Signori, Verona.
During the meeting, delegates will be offered the opportunity to visit “Job & Orienta Fair”, the largest and most renowned yearly Italian Fair on school guidance. For further details:
